3	Metta Center for Nonviolence Education The mission of the Metta Center for Nonviolence Education is addressing the problem of violence in society by raising consciousness about nonviolence. Nonviolence is already respected as an effective, if at times misunderstood, means of conflict resolution and social change. The Metta team lives by the principles they teach: unconditional respect for all persons, honesty, service, compassion, courage and wisdom.	918
4	RAISE - education for sustainable development RAISE (Rural Arts In Science Education) is an education for sustainable development project based at Beenleigh Meadows Farm near Totnes in South Devon providing a curriculum for learning the practical skills required for sustainable living. Different tutors and course leaders run a varied curriculum of short courses to suit the broad spectrum of sciences and rural arts connected to sustainability. Practical teaching uses a holistic, inter-disciplinary approach.	548
5	The International Society for Ecology and Culture The International Society for Ecology and Culture (ISEC) is a non-profit organisation concerned with the protection of both biological and cultural diversity. Our emphasis is on education for action: moving beyond single issues to look at the more fundamental influences that shape our lives.We have worked in more than a dozen countries, from the UK and the USA to Thailand and Bhutan. Our programme in Ladakh, or 'Little Tibet', where we have been running a wide range of 'hands on' projects since 1975, has won international acclaim for countering the negative effects of conventional development in that region. ISEC has now established an 'Ancient Futures Network' to bring together groups and individuals from every corner of the world that are struggling to maintain their cultural integrity in the face of economic globalisation.	582
6	Centre for Ecoliteracy The Centre for Ecoliteracy is dedicated to education for sustainable living. We provide information, inspiration, and support to the vital movement of K-12 educators, parents, and other members of the school community who are helping young people gain the knowledge, skills, and values essential to sustainable living. We base our work on these four guiding principles: * Nature is our teacher * Sustainability is a community practice * The real world is the optimal learning environment * Sustainable living is rooted in a deep knowledge of place	629
7	The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment is an educational charity which exists to improve the quality of people’s lives by teaching and practising timeless and ecological ways of planning, designing and building.	514
8	Turquoise Mountain Foundation The Turquoise Mountain Foundation was founded in 2006 by HRH The Prince of Wales and H. E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to help preserve some of Afghanistan’s rich architectural and cultural heritage for future generations. Turquoise Mountain is investing in the regeneration of the historic commercial centre of Kabul, providing basic services, saving historic buildings and constructing a new bazaar and galleries for traditional craft businesses. It has established Afghanistan's first Higher Education Institute for Afghan Arts & Architecture gathering some of the greatest Masters in Afghanistan and training students to produce masterpieces in wood, calligraphy and ceramics.	535
